President's Message: 2018 Volume 1
Monday, March 19, 2018
On behalf of the ESICA Board of Directors and myself, I would like to wish you a happy New Year! 2018 promises to be an exciting year!
As many of you know, our 2017 Fall Conference with CSIA was set to take place in Houston, Texas during the first week of September. Unfortunately, mother nature had other plans for us! Due to the devastating impact Hurricane Harvey had on Texas, we were forced to cancel the conference.
Although the conference did not take place, we knew that we needed to help. After much research, we came across Direct Relief and were extremely impressed by all the organization has done and continues to do for those who need support during such trying times. I am proud to say that ESICA and CSIA decided to both make donations to this wonderful organization in an effort to help those in need. It also brings much pride to see the efforts of our members who are volunteering their time and resources to support hurricane victims. These stories are featured in this edition of the ESICA Review, so be sure to check that out!
Our next conference will be held in Amelia Island, Florida from May 2nd to 4th. The Omni Amelia Island is a beautiful resort and the perfect location for our 2018 Spring Conference. We are very excited to hear our keynote speaker, Ed Rowell from FMI speaking about the Characteristics of Enduring Organizations. Ed was originally scheduling to speak at our 2017 Fall Conference, so we are very glad that he was available to speak at this conference. Keep an eye out for registration information!
I look forward to seeing everyone in sunny Amelia Island!
