ESICA’s Commitment to Health and Safety
Masks will be required in all public areas during the Conference, including in meeting rooms, and during meals (when not seated). Hand sanitizing stations will be available in every Conference area, and temperatures will be taken before entering the cocktail reception, main program, and dinner. Social distancing will be enforced.
Hotel
- The Hotel will be routinely sanitizing high touch point areas, and all Hotel staff will be wearing masks.
- The Hotel recommends that no more than 4 people occupy the elevators at a time.
Registration
- Registration will be contactless – upon checking in at the front desk, attendees will receive their welcome package with instructions for checking in via the ESICA website. To minimize contact, there will be no registration table.
Cocktail Reception
- The cocktail reception will be outdoors (weather permitting).
- There will be two separate areas for eating/drinking and networking to ensure that attendees are only moving around when wearing their masks. Once attendees are finished eating and drinking, they may move to the networking area.
- Attendees will be appropriately distanced from one another while seated. There will be minimal contact with Hotel staff, who will be wearing masks at all times.
- Food will be plated individually or served cafeteria-style by a mask-wearing staff member. There are no passed hors d’oeuvres at this time. All attendees must wear masks while getting food or drinks.
Main Program (Keynote Speaker and Panel Event)
- This program will take place indoors. All attendees will be appropriately spaced from one another.
- For the panel event, panel members will be distanced, and will wear masks during the panel. Microphones will be sanitized between each use.
Meals (Breakfast and Dinner)
- Dinner will be outdoors (weather permitting). Breakfast will be indoors with adequate spacing between attendees.
- Meals will be served cafeteria-style, with a masked Hotel staff member serving food to attendees. Masks must be worn whenever out of your seat.
- Linens will be changed prior to all meal functions.
- All condiments (salt, pepper, cream, sugar, etc.) will be provided by a server upon request.
Activities
- To maximize the safety of our attendees, ESICA will not be hosting activities or excursions during the Conference.
- All attendees will be given vouchers for 20% off Hotel spa treatments. To make a spa appointment, or to learn more about the spa’s COVID safety measures, please call 843-692-3730.
ESICA COVID-19 Waiver Statement
- By registering and attending, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By attending the 2021 Spring Conference at the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold ESICA or any of its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury. All attendees are expected to monitor their health leading up to the Conference. If you experience symptoms of or test positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of the Conference, do not attend, and contact ESICA at info@esica.org. There will be a waiver to sign once you arrive at the hotel. This waiver will ask you to verify that you are not feeling sick and have no known symptoms upon arrival to the Conference.
